God Remembers That We Are Dust

Psalms 103:14, “For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.”

By David J. Stewart

This is a precious Scripture that reminds us of God's great heart of compassion and genuine understanding. The Lord knows that we are frail human beings. God knows the difference between sinful lack of faith, verses just being tired and needing a break. The Lord sees our heart. The important thing is that we do everything before the Lord in sincerity with an honest heart. God cannot be fooled.

Jeremiah 17:9 teaches that “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” But God knows man's wicked heart, and He has given us the Bible which is “a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). This is why it is very important that we abide in the Scriptures that we might have the mind of Christ as Philippians 2:5 teaches. There are many fools in the world today who have the mind of Satan. Jesus told us in John 5:39 to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!

It is wonderful to know that God continually remembers that we are dust, and I assure you that God never forgets anything. Contrary to what the movies portray, God is not an old man. God is as youthful as can be and yet as old as eternity. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:15-16, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” What a precious PROMISE from God. Every born-again believer has a God-given right, on the basis on Christ's blood sacrifice, to boldly approach God's throne of grace to obtain mercy to find grace “to help in TIME OF NEED.” Amen!

God's grace is available to every believer to help in the time of our need. I don't know about you, but I need God's help EVERY DAY. I cannot make it alone. My neck pain is constant, and the stabbing pain running down my legs is so bad. As I type the sharp razorblade pain running down my right leg is horrible. The pain runs down the inner part of my leg and into my foot. Something is messed up in my neck and has been for a long time. My pain started in 2004 and has only gotten worse each year. After 2 neck surgeries I'm worse now than before. I need God to help me not to be overwhelmed with depression because of the pain; the sweet PROMISES of the Word of God encourage me and keep me going.

Whoever you may be, take note of the awesome Scripture found in Psalm 103:14, “For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” What a great God and Savior! Think of the most compassionate person you've ever met, and then realize that they don't even compare to how compassionate and caring the Lord Jesus Christ is! Know one cares as much as God, not even close!!! God never sleeps, never tires, never has a bad day, never gets overwhelmed with work to do, never needs a break or vacation, never gets depressed... God is a righteous, loving, and perfect God!

The Bible is our anchor in the time of storm. The Bible is a Lighthouse for every ship at sea, to guide us through the storms of life. No matter what storms may arise and threaten imminent destruction, the Light of God's Word is still shining through the fierce tempest of the storm. Keep your eyes on the the Lighthouse! Don't take your eyes off the Word of God. Peter didn't sink until he took his eyes off Jesus. As Peter sank he immediately cried out and said, “Lord, save me” (Matthew 14:30). You cannot go wrong if you rest your feet upon solid ground, which is the Lord Jesus Christ (1st Corinthians 3:11).

God cares about you my friend (1st Peter 5:7). It doesn't matter how we may feel, nor what we may think; what matters is what the incorruptible Word of God proclaims!!! 1st Peter 5:7 tells us to cast our cares upon the Lord, because He cares for us. 1st Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Jesus loves me this I know... why? Is it because I feel it? No. Is it because I learned that song as a child in Sunday School? No. Is it because I experienced it? No. I know Jesus loves me... FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO!

The happiest Christians are those who live their life by claiming the PROMISES of God in the Bible. A popular trend creeping into our churches today is experiential religion based upon experiences and feelings, instead of basing our faith upon the unchangeable rock solid PROMISES of an unchanging God (Malachi 3:6). Our feelings may change from day-to-day; but God's PROMISES never change. Amen!
