What Makes the Holy Bible So Precious and Exciting

By David J. Stewart | August 2017

Proverb 4:18, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”

According to a 2014 study by Barna Group, 60% of non-Christian Millennials (age 18 to 33) have never read the Bible. Can you imagine? No wonder our nation is in shambles today. I stopped reading the daily news years ago, because it is nothing more than a constant reminder that God's Word is the answer to all of man's problems, but people won't take heed and obey. They won't even read it! Psalms 119:9, “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.” In this adulterous and perverse generation that rejects the inspired Word of God, should it be surprising why people's lives are so filthy and full of wickedness?

What makes the Holy Bible so precious and exciting? Where do I start? Oh boy! Several books could be written. Albeit, I wanted to write this article to express a few reasons why the King James Bible means so much to me. I often sleep with my King James Bible, holding it against my chest as I sleep throughout the night, holding it near to my heart. I do this especially when my heart is heavy and sad. I love God's Word because it is very pure. Psalms 119:140, “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.” This is why I make such a big fuss over the inspiration and exclusivity of the King James Bible. All of the modern Bible PERversions were translated from entirely different Greek manuscripts known as the Alexandrian text (or Minority Text).

The Bible is Precious to Me Because I am On the Winning Side in Christ Jesus

The reason why the King James Bible is so precious and exciting to me is because I am on the winning side in Christ Jesus. John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” I have followed the VOICE of my dear Savior, telling me to place my trust in Him alone for forgiveness of sins and eternal life. I didn't follow Jesus to get saved, I follow Him because I am saved. I heard a fantastic sermon this week by one of my favorite preachers, Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold. The MP3 sermon is called, “FOLLOW THE VOICE!” I encourage you to hear it. I get happy and excited when I mediate upon the promises of God in the Scriptures, knowing that I am one of Jesus' sheep. WHAT A PRECIOUS AND GOOD SHEPHERD!!!

My friend, if you find the King James Bible dull and boring, it is only because you're either not saved, you're woefully ignorant of the truth, or something is very wrong with you're heart! Bless God, I get excited when I hear the Holy Scriptures. For example: 1st Peter 1:7, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” Yes, yes, yes, I rejoice with UNSPEAKABLE JOY, loving Jesus Christ, Whom I've never seen, but His blessed Holy Spirit lives (indwells) my body and keeps me singing as I go. 1st John 3:24, “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.” Romans 8:9, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” It is the blessed presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit that makes the Word of God so precious and exciting to me!!!

And by the way, that is how I KNOW (being able to spiritually discern) that the modern Bible versions are horribly corrupted, published by the father of all liars, Satan himself (John 8:44). 2nd Corinthians 2:17, “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” Still today, two millenniums later, there are MANY evildoers who “CORRUPT THE WORD OF GOD”!!!

Oh, it is wonderful to be a Christian! To most people, the Bible is a mere book authored by mortal men, written for selfish reasons, to control the masses. The average person views the Bible as being just another book. Modernists and liberals negatively view the Bible as an oppressive book filled with hate, prejudice and bigotry. What does the Bible mean to you?

The Bible is Precious to Me Because God is Real

Oh my friend, I wish you could have the walk with God that I have (and you can). I try to go walking every day, sometimes twice. The other night I couldn't sleep, so I went walking at 3 am in the morning. I saw a couple shooting stars, which are always special to see. They last about one second as they flash quickly across the nighttime sky. There's just something about beholding the stars in the heavens that words cannot explain. God is truly amazing! I prayed for a couple hours, as I walked, listening to Alexander Scourby read the King James Bible. I have a portable MP3 player that clips onto my waist. It has a medical grade battery and is such a blessing. Jesus promised us that if we abide in Him, and His words abide in us, we will bear much fruit. John 15:5, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” We cannot get a person saved. Only the Holy Spirit can get people saved. That's why blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven, because without Him you cannot be saved.

I have a classic book in front of me published in the year 1868, titled “GOD IN HISTORY and GOD IN SCIENCE,” authored by London Pastor John Cumming (1807-1881).[1] May I say kindly, there's no such thing as an atheist! Some of the world's wealthiest celebrities have the stench of Hell on them, which is where they are all going, blaspheming the very God Who is kind to them. Luke 6:35b, “...for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.”

Legendary singer Billy Joel is a professed atheist...

“I gradually decided that just because I didn't have or couldn't find the ultimate answer didn't mean I was going to buy the religious fairytale. As an atheist you have to rationalize things.” —Billy Joel

On page 139 of his book, “GOD IN HISTORY and GOD IN SCIENCE,” Pastor John Cumming makes a brilliant observation concerning professed atheists...

God is thus collecting and arranging all things to witness to His word. He is in the Pyramids of Egypt—in the ruins of Pompeii—in the laboratories of science—in literature, in poetry, calling up new heralds of his glory; and by-and-by the hole earth shall be covered with ten thousand times ten thousand witnesses from very realm, and school, and kingdom, and science, who, Baptist-like, shall point while they preach, “Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world!”

We have a precious meek and lowly Savior, who is the best friend a person could ever have. I wish everyone could know the Lord the way I do (and you can if you want to). You've got to be a Christian (which is solely by faith), and then you've got to sincerely try to obey Him (confessing all your sins), and you've got to abide in the Scriptures continually and talk with the Lord, which includes prayer. Prayer is asking. When I talk with the Lord, I pray as things come to mind while I'm talking with the Lord. As you spend time searching and abiding in the Scriptures, and talk with the Lord daily, He will become very real and personal to you, a close friend. This is what makes the Bible so real, precious and exciting to me.

The Bible is Precious to Me Because God's Words are Very Pure

Psalms 119:140, “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.”

I wouldn't give you a dime for all these modern lame Bible versions which are based upon the corrupt texts (or Minority Texts) from Alexandria, Egypt. Thank God for the trustworthy Textus Receptus (or Majority Text) from Antioch, Syria, upon which our beloved King James Bible has been translated. We DO have God's inspired words today in the precious King James Bible. Only the King James Bible is not copyrighted.

Only the King James Bible (the better quality one's) include italics (the 47 translators often added words in the English text for clarity. They honestly placed these added words in italics to inform the reader). That's honest scholarship! None of the modern Bible versions contain italics, because the modern publishers couldn't care less about accuracy. The King James Bible translators didn't translate what they “thought” God meant, they word-for-word translated what God said!!! I love God's Word because it is VERY PURE!!! Psalms 119:140, “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.” I HATE all of the modern Bible versions, because they are NOT PURE!!! Psalms 119:104, “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” That's why I often make the truthful statement... IF YOU DON'T HAVE A KING JAMES BIBLE, YOU DON'T HAVE A HOLY BIBLE!!!

Do you know why Bob Jones University (BJU) and their sad graduates don't hate the modern corrupt Bible versions? It is because they don't love God's Word. That's it! If they loved God's Word, then they'd hate the modern corrupt Bible versions that butcher God's Word. Psalms 119:104, “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” Psalms 119:97, “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.” Psalms:119:163, “I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.” The psalmist (David) said he loved God's Word; therefore, he hated lying. Brooke Westcott and Fenton Hort (the co-fathers of the modern Alexandrian Bible versions) are liars! By supporting (and even selling in their campus bookstore) the Alexandrian corrupt Bible versions, Bob Jones University are pulling on the same rope as the Devil, promoting the horribly corrupt Alexandrian theology in the new versions! Literally, Bob Jones College and their alumni are helping damn people to the Lake of Fire. Woe unto BJU and their own! The only inspired words of God in English today are in the King James Bible!

And while I'm on the subject, I want you, the reader, to know that most Bible colleges today deny the inspiration of the King James Bible. Sadly, my own Bible college from which I graduated (1985-1993), at Hyles-Anderson College, no longer believes that the King James Bible is inspired. That is because the folks at the First Baptist Church of Hammond no longer believe that the King James Bible is inspired. It is one of the biggest heartbreaks of my life. Pastor Jack Hyles (who pastored FBCH from 1959 until his graduation to Heaven in 2001) is very displeased up in Heaven today with FBCH, and so is the Lord Himself. How could the Lord be pleased with anyone who denies the inspiration of His Word? It is ridiculous to believe that God inspired His Word and then preserved it, but it is no longer inspired. And don't you dare tell me that we have God's inspired words today, while at the same time foolishly denying the inspiration of the King James Bible!!! That makes no sense at all. And beware of Dr. Sam Gipp, who denies the inspiration of the King James Bible. Mr. Gipp is a false prophet concerning inspiration. Something is VERY WRONG with any professed man of God who sees no problem with having two different, conflicting, disagreeing, confusing, Bible texts.

Do you know why so many religious institutions refuse to proclaim the inspiration of the King James Bible? It is because in so doing they are also claiming that it is perfect, without error, infallible, incorruptible and very pure. They refuse to believe it! Instead, they've listened to Dr. Know-It-All and Professor Fat-Bottom criticize the King James Bible for so long, that they've been confused, joining the “YEA, HATH GOD SAID?” society instead of standing faithfully with the “THUS SAITH THE LORD!” society. The Devil always puts a question mark where God put an exclamation mark. Poor little fools. The average Baptist pastor today preaches with lace on his underwear. The average church pastor nowadays is some sissy-britches coward who looks to see what his peers are preaching before he sticks his neck out. Such a sorry rascal ought never be allowed behind a church pulpit. I don't care if it harelips every dog in the county, I'm going to preach THE TRUTH, like it or lump it!

Kindly, get right with God Bob Jones University! God right with God Hyles-Anderson College! Get right with God Pensacola Christian College! God right with God Crown Bible College! Get right with God Ambassador Bible College (run by Dr. Ron Comfort), who denies the inspiration of the King James Bible. They all say the same retarded thing, that only the ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPHS were inspired. The big problem is that WE DON'T HAVE THE ORIGINALS today. All we have are copies of copies of the originals. So if only the original autographs of the Scripture were inspired, then we DON'T have God's INCORRUPTIBLE WORD today, and we're all going to Hell, because 1st Peter 1:23 says that we can only be born-again by the incorruptible word of God. 1st Peter 1:23, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” Don't trust any preacher who denies the inspiration of the King James Bible. It's not enough just to use only the King James Bible, he MUST believe that it is inspired word-for-word. Every single word in the King James Bible is inspired by God!!!!!!! That's why I love it so much.

Theologian, Dr. Henry H. Halley, correctly states in the introduction to his popular Halley's Handbook:

“God Himself became a Man, to give mankind a concrete, definite, tangible idea of what kind of Person to think of when we think of God. God is like Jesus. Jesus was God incarnate in human form. His appearance on earth is the Central Event of all history. The Old Testament sets the stage for it. The New Testament describes it. As a man, He lived the most strangely Beautiful Life ever known. He was the Kindest, Tenderest, Gentlest, most Patient, most Sympathetic man that ever lived. He Loved people. He hated to see people in trouble. He loved to Forgive. He loved to Help. He wrought marvelous miracles to feed hungry people. For relieving the suffering He forgot to take food for Himself. Multitudes, weary, pain-ridden, and heart-sick, came to Him, and found healing and relief. It is said of Him, and of no other, that if all the deeds of Kindness that He did were written, the world would not contain the books. That is the kind of man Jesus was. That is the kind of Person God is. Then: He Died, on the Cross, to take away the Sin of the world, to become the Redeemer and Saviour of man. Then: He Rose from the Dead: is Alive Now: not merely an historical character, but a Living Person: the Most Important Fact of History, and Most Vital Force in the world today.” —Henry H. Halley (1874-1965)

What a precious Savior! What a precious Book! Thank God for the gifts of the Living Word and the Written Word. We learn about the Living Word through the Written Word. John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

I Feel Sorry for Fools Who Reject All That God Has to Offer

Most people look at the Holy Bible as a mere book. Many people think the Bible was authored by men alone, and that they are not God's inspired words. I feel sorry for such people, because they have it all wrong and are missing out. The Holy Bible (which in the English language today is ONLY the King James Bible) is very special to me for many reasons.

First, it is the SEED by which I was born-again. No one can be saved from the Alexandrian Bible PERversions. 1st Peter 1:23, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

Second, as a born-again child of God, all of the wonderful PROMISES in the Bible from God apply to me. That is so awesome!!! ...

2nd Peter 1:1-4, “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

I have obtained like precious faith with the New Testament saints, through THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD AND OUR SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST. This speaks of the imputed righteousness of God.

1st Peter 4:12-14, “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.”

Kindly, in Evangelist Ray Comfort's The Evidence Bible, he totally leaves out and ignores the important Bible doctrine of IMPUTATION. The word “impute” doesn't even appear in the index provided in the back. Ray never comments about this great Bible doctrine. Could it be because he DOESN'T understand the doctrine of salvation by GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS? I own a copy of Mr. Comfort's The Evidence Bible on my bookshelf. I just checked and Ray exclusively uses the Amplified Bible (AMP) for his commentary. Here is Romans 4:5 from the King James Bible, and then from The Amplified Bible...

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) - Romans 4:5, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works.”

AMPLIFIED BIBLE (AMP) - Romans 4:5, “But to the one who does not work [that is, the one who does not try to earn his salvation by doing good], but believes and completely trusts in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God). And in this same way David speaks of the blessing on the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works.”

There is a VERY BIG difference between the words “credit” and “impute.” The theological meaning of the word impute refers to God's righteousness being credited to a man by faith alone. Romans 10:3, “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” We are saved by submitting to God's righteousness!!! However, the word “credit” doesn't carry this great theological meaning. A person reading the King James Bible will want to study the word imputation, to find its meaning. But the word credit says nothing of the imputed righteousness of God. Whereas the word credit merely says that God attributes righteousness to a man without works, the word imputation says that it is GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS that is attributed to a man by faith. I hope you see the difference.

The Unspeakable Joy of Abiding in the Scriptures and Christ in Us

I heard one of the best MP3 sermons yesterday by Pastor Jack Hyles, which I found in an old box of cassettes that I've been lugging around for the past 30 years. It was my privilege to transfer it into an MP3 yesterday and share it with you today. I hope you'll take the time to listen to it, which is titled, “HOW TO BE RIGHT WITH GOD.” ...

Psalms 1:1-3, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

I delight in the King James Bible!!! I meditate (think about it) day and night. I went walking today just before sunrise and listened to Alexander Scourby read the King James Bible. I listened to it last night while walking at sunset. Boy, you really think you're some great Christian, don't you? No, I'm a horrible Christian, which is why I need so much help from God. My life has been a mess, which I'm sure many people can relate to. I haven't always served the Lord with a perfect heart. I backslid for a long time, and became filled with my own ways. Proverbs 14:14, “The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.” A righteous (saved man) falls and falls, but he gets back up, because the Holy Spirit won't let him find peace until He does so. I now have peace in my soul. It wasn't always this way. I don't want to stray away from my God anymore. Psalms 119:67 and 71, “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. ... It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.” Do you know where is the easiest place to backslide? It is right in church!!! Some of the worst believers (many of them aren't saved because of wrong repentance and Lordship Salvation),

I heard one of the best MP3 sermons yesterday by Pastor Jack Hyles, which I found in an old box of cassettes that I've been lugging around for the past 30 years. It is my privilege to transfer it into an Mp3 and share it with others online. I hope you'll take the time to listen to it, which is titled, “HOW TO BE RIGHT WITH GOD.”

I tell the Lord that I love Him throughout the the day. I talk aloud to Jesus when I'm walking each morning and evening. I saw a full double rainbow the other day and cried, as if the Lord was telling me that He's proud of me for being put outside the gate with Him, for telling THE TRUTH! The Lord knows that I love rainbows, and I sincerely believe that He makes them especially for me sometimes. Whether He does or not, I do not know, but I DO KNOW that the Lord loves the righteous. 1Pe:3:12: For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

One of my favorite preachers, Pastor Steven Anderson has it right...

“If you don't believe the Bible, if you don't believe in God, you can't really say that anything's right or wrong, with any real authority. ... Our morality comes from the Bible. Atheists just kind of make their own morality. It's just an objective morality that they make up. And then they try to impose it on you! Their morality!” —Pastor Steven L. Anderson; a quote from the YouTube video titled, "Eye For An Eye"; Full video titled, "Commandments From Exodus 6; published October 7, 2014).

I cherish the King James Bible because it is full of PROMISES for the born-again believer...

2nd Corinthians 7:1, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

One of the saddest things of our generation is that fewer youth read the Word of God today than in previous generations. Surely, this is a sign of the times. One of the reasons why young people are abandoning the Holy Bible is because of all the confusion generated by having HUNDREDS of available versions. If preachers and Bible colleges don't care about the purity of God's Word, then why should anyone else? ...

Survey Says Most Non-Christian Millennials Have Never Read the Bible
Eric Metaxas | BreakPoint | Friday, November 14, 2014

Earlier this year, I told you about some of the challenges in reaching Millennials for Christ, that is, young adults aged roughly 18 to 33. While 55 percent of Baby Boomers say they’re religious, only 36 percent of Millennials do. “Today,” University of Virginia sociologist W. Bradford Wilcox notes, “fully 29 percent of Millennials consider themselves religiously unaffiliated, a record postwar high. They are also much less likely to describe themselves as ‘religious’ compared with earlier generations of Americans.”

Well, how is this rising generation connecting to the Bible? In a word, poorly. According to a new study by the Barna Group, “Non-Christian Millennials hold ambivalent and sometimes extremely negative views about the Bible.”

Non-Christian Millennials’ unfamiliarity with the Bible, however, has not kept them from forming an opinion on it—an extremely negative one. Barna says that nearly half believe “the Bible is just another book of teachings written by men that contains stories and advice.”

The most common words they use to describe the Bible are “story,” “mythology,” “symbolic,” and “fairy tale.” Fully 30 percent of Millennials allow that it’s a useful book of moral teachings, but nearly as many—27 percent—agree that the Bible is “a dangerous book of religious dogma used for centuries to oppress people.”

Almost one in five say the Bible is “an outdated book with no relevance for today.” I don’t know about you, but those numbers kind of make me want to weep.

I thank God that I am a born-again Christian. When I read or hear the King James Bible, my heart burns, knowing that it applies to me as a child of God. I don't hope for eternal life, I have a hope of eternal life!!! All that God has promised will come to pass. The Lord has never broken a single promise to anyone. The Bible contains literally THOUSANDS of promises from God to man. END

John 8:45, “And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.”

“You can sit there and say, 'Oh, well, you just took it too far. You just took King James onlyism too far!' Well, you know what brother, you can't take it far enough, when they're pushing all these false versions, and all the bookstores, and the Christian bookstores, and all of your big name preachers are all preaching false versions! You know, we need to stand our ground on this issue!!!” —a great quote by Pastor Steven Anderson from the awesome sermon, Saved By The Word” | MP3).

Why We Use Only The King James Bible (Pastor John Ricci)

*     *     *     *     *     *     *

Rooted and Built Up in Him

You live the Christian life the same way that you got saved... BY FAITH IN HIM!!!

Here's a precious MP3 sermon by Brother Roloff called, “Running Short On Authority.” In the sermon Brother Roloff teaches a wonderful truth from Colossians 2:6-7, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” Isn't that beautiful? We live the Christian life the same way that we get saved... BY FAITH IN JESUS!!!

The Bible says... SO WALK YE IN HIM: ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN HIM!!! I love that truth!

Here it is again, in case you missed it (and this is a great passage to commit to memory)...

Colossians 2:6-7, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

And here also in this passage, we see “the simplicity that is in Christ” (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). We are saved simply by BELIEVING (TRUSTING) “THE GOSPEL” when we hear it preached!!! END

Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

DO GOOD and it will BE GOOD!!!

“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God,
and that obey not THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
